Safaris Staying at Tremisana Game Lodge

Further information on Tremisana Game Lodge can be found at http://www.tremisana.com

Tremisana is the largest and leading lodge in the Balule section of Kruger Park.
We have a total of 15 chalets plus a two-bedroomed Guest House. Every unit is thatched, is air-conditioned and en suite ( shower, toilet, basin ) and has a tea/coffee station. Insect-proof screens are fitted on all windows.

Sparkling pool at Tremisana

There is a splash pool, open air boma for dinners around a crackling fire and a covered lapa overlooking a waterhole. A very beautiful luxuriant garden boasts numerous bougainvilleas, palms and cycads which give the camp a subtropical tone. Water features add a soothing effect and the overall feel of Tremisana Lodge is very relaxing. At night, the subdued light along the illuminated paved walkways lend a romantic and magical feel to this outstanding camp.

The lodge is serviced by two excellent boreholes. Its proximity to the tar road means Tremisana is easily accessible all year round, including the rainy season. The presence of lions, elephants and buffalo necessitates the maintaining of an electric fence around the camp.

A troop of Vervet Monkeys has learned how to avoid being shocked and has made Tremisana their permanent home. Their antics never fail to amuse and enthrall our guests.

Mindful of the increasing demand of tourists to have extended walks in the bush, away from the crowds, 2008 saw the introduction of a new product: A Big Five game walk accompanied by armed rangers. Our guests really enjoy getting close to Nature while tracking the Big Five.

2010 saw the introduction of a new product: A game drive in the Big Five Tshukudu Game Reserve. The game drives on Tshukudu are excellent and the rangers are in constant radio contact with one another. Unlike Kruger Park, off-road driving is permitted to get a better photo of the Big Five.

Day Two : Awaken at sunrise for a cuppa and rusks before an exhilarating day of bush experience. Drive to the mighty Olifants River, where you enjoy a four hour “ walk in the wild ”. Your experienced field guide will lead you through the bush at a pace you can handle in search of the Big Five. The thrill of following Africa’s large animals in a quest to approach close enough to take a good photo will remain with you forever. Adrenalin surges will be acute, notwithstanding the fact that your ranger is adequately armed in case of potential danger.

Return to Tremisana for brunch, after which you may swim or sleep in your airconditioned chalet. The new Lapa has extensive wildlife books and magazines. For the very keen, we offer a game-viewing Hide (with ablutions) overlooking Tremisana Dam, where animals and birds often come to drink.

At around 15h00 we drive to Tshukudu Game Reserve, where a scrumptious tea is served. We may even be joined by the tame Cheetahs ! Day Three : Drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger, where we transfer to a custom-built open-sided Gameviewer. The open vehicle allows for a total wildlife opportunity - you will not only have an amazing opportunity to view game, but also to listen to and smell the African bush and its denizens. The absence of windows and your elevated vantage position allow for excellent photographic opportunities. Your experienced guide will show you many animals and birds that frequent this wildlife paradise. We have regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps and places of interest. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi regions have open plains and support large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope that attract numerous predators. In fact, this zone has the highest concentration of lions in Africa !

RECENT GUEST FEEDBACK

“Our Group of 8 guests are fully satisfied! Tremisana staff--you rock!”
ND, Connecticut, USA

Our safari experience is awesome. Alice, Rai, Thabo, Isaac, Bongani (and company), the kitchen staff & trackers are the best in caring for our safety & comfort. The guides are knowledgeable and relentless in pursuing wild animal sightings for the thrills of their guests. They show care for the wild animals and the guests specially. We only have happy memories of our stay at Kruger Park.

Also, the food and ambiance are great---very South African. I highly recommend Tremisana Game Lodge to anyone who values friendly staff, nice accommodation and great safari experience.

“One of my favorite places in the world”
Jtolson210, Chicago, Illinois.

I went to J-Burg on business and did the 3 day Safari in March 2012.
I'm going back in Feb 2013 because of the experience of a lifetime @ Tremisana.

Value: Great versus the competition!
Game viewing: Close to Kruger and the private game viewing on the property is fantastic. We saw 4/5 of the Big Five right around the lodge.

Lodge: There is a bar and fire-pit area where they serve dinner @ night... Great to chill under the stars.... There is a little balcony area for breakfast that overlooks a water hole. Fun to watch the monkeys play while you have coffee.

Service: Super friendly staff. Especially the game wardens. They go full stop to make sure you see the animals. I didn't see a Lion on days 1-2. On the last day - my guide Wesley took me for a "last chance" morning game drive around the property. He found lion tracks and tracked them for 45 minutes...... In the last 10 minutes of my stay - we caught up to a pack of 5 actively hunting Impala. Amazing.

"Wow, an awesome place...can't recommend it enough"

My boyfriend and I stayed here only 1 night on our safari and we can only wish we had more time. This place is a little gem and the staff are so nice. The food is great and what I liked most was that there are little monkeys free to roam (well, all the animals are free to roam!) It is a magical setting and I really feel that if we Safari again, here will be high on the agenda. It is warma dn welcoming and the staff are friendly and informative. We booked through Viva safaris and had 1 night here and 2 at Marc's treehouse. Out of the two places, this is more of a luxury than the Marc's trehouse, but both are amazing emperiences. To wonder out of your front door and have nature on your doorstep. Incredible! Our guides here were Wes and Bongani and I can't thank them both enough for their time. We were lucky enough to have tours where we were the only couple and my favorite from this lodge was the early morning bush walk. Going out when it's still dark, with an armed ranger into the animal teritory is really something else. A bit of a thrill, if you may!

Room Tip: All rooms here are amazing. The venue is such a perfect setting and the staff are great too! 5* in m...
